AMENDED EMAIL WITH DATE OF OCTOBER 4 INCLUDED

    Brothers and Sisters,

We are having a joint meeting between the BLE-T and SmartTD to discuss and compile a list of questions to be sent to the National Divisions via the respective General Committees. We will go over each Tentative Agreement, the PEB discussion and resultant award, and how it plays into our tentative agreement.

In the recent historical past there have been 2 major PEB boards which had major implications on our working environment and agreements. One was 85-86 and the other at 91. Both had major implications, such as crew consist, dual pay standards, and major changes in work rules.

The current tentative agreement must be viewed as having very similar effects. We need to understand what is in the agreement, the agreement language itself and what led up to the language as written. This agreement could define what the railroad working conditions will look like in the future or at least set the stage for it.

Once again, this is an informational meeting for the sole purpose of informing and educating and to compile questions for official responses from the respective National Divisions as per the bylaws of each party. The intent is not to encourage or discourage a vote for or against the "TA."

The meeting will be co-chaired by myself and Kevin Knutson, and will be run under the basic principles of the Roberts Rules of Order.

MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE GEORGE AMOS BUILDING 412 S. GILLETTE AVE, 0900-1300,  Tuesday, Oct. 4. Please be aware that parking on Main Street is a 2 hour maximum, there is a free covered parking garage behind the courthouse.

    PLEASE ATTEND - THANK YOU,

    Steve Halbrook
